لا تَظُنَّنَّ ذَا حياةٍ مُقِيماً

لا تَظُنَّنَّ ذَا حياةٍ مُقِيماً

وهْو في رِحْلةٍ له بيَقِينِ

وهْو في رِحْلةٍ له بيَقِينِ

Never think a living being remains in place,

Think not that any living man abides,

While he is surely on a journey of his own.

Though dwelling now, hereafter he provides;

مَن مَطاياهُ ليلُه ونهارٌ

مَن مَطاياهُ ليلُه ونهارٌ

سائرٌ للفناءِ في كلِّ حِينِ

سائرٌ للفناءِ في كلِّ حِينِ

One whose mounts are his night and day

Whose steeds are night-time and the light of day,

Is traveling toward extinction at every moment.

Journeying forever on his destined way.
