شجرٌ حَثَّها له اسْتدعاءُ
Indeed, they walked toward him on a single leg—
She walked towards him on one foot
trees, urged toward him by a summons.
A tree encouraged her at his beckoning
لوif حَبَاهاgranted them ساقيْنtwo legs رَبُّthe Lord البَرايَاcreatures
لو حَبَاها ساقيْن رَبُّ البَرايَا
لمnot تكنْbe للفِراقِfor separation قطُّever تشاءُwish
لم تكنْ للفِراقِ قطُّ تشاءُ
Had the Lord of creatures granted them two legs,
If the Lord of mankind had granted her two feet
they would never have wished to part.
She would have never desired separation
