لا أطمعُ اليومَ وقد أصبحتْ

لا أطمعُ اليومَ وقد أصبحتْ

للّهِ عندي نِعَمٌ سَابِغَهْ

للّهِ عندي نِعَمٌ سَابِغَهْ

I covet nothing today, now that

I have no more hopes or desires today

God's blessings upon me have become abundant.

Since I have been granted by the divine bountiful blessings

لِرَأْسِ أطْماعِي تَبِيتُ المُنَى

لِرَأْسِ أطْماعِي تَبِيتُ المُنَى

تَدْهُنُ من قارورةٍ فارِغَهْ

تَدْهُنُ من قارورةٍ فارِغَهْ

Hopes spend the night at the head of my ambitions,

For all my aspirations night will come

anointing it from an empty bottle.

And anoint from an empty flask
