أصبحتُI have become مَنwhoever يُبْصِرُنيsees me طَرْفُهُhis eye
أصبحتُ مَن يُبْصِرُني طَرْفُهُ
بكلِّof all ماthat which أمْلِكُهI own it يَدْرِيknows
بكلِّ ما أمْلِكُه يَدْرِي
I am now such that anyone whose eye beholds me
I have become one whose glance
Knows all that I own.
Knows all I possess
كسُلْحُفَاةٍlike a turtle منfrom مِيَاهٍwaters بَدَتْit emerged
كسُلْحُفَاةٍ من مِيَاهٍ بَدَتْ
بَيْتِيmy home وماand what أحْوِيI possess علىon ظَهْرِيmy back
بَيْتِي وما أحْوِي على ظَهْرِي
Like a turtle that has emerged from the waters,
Like a tortoise out of water
My home and all I possess are on my back.
