الخَلْقُcreated beings سَفْرٌtravelers والزمانُand time مَراحِلٌwaystations
الخَلْقُ سَفْرٌ والزمانُ مَراحِلٌ
خَطَواتُهits steps فيin سَيْرِهِits journey الأنْفاسُbreaths
خَطَواتُه في سَيْرِهِ الأنْفاسُ
Creation is a company of travelers, and time is waystations.
Creation is a journey, and time strides in stages
Its steps along its journey are breaths.
Its steps as it moves along are breaths
والمَقْصِدُand the destination الأسْنَىthe loftiest لهمfor them دارُabode of الْبَقَاeternity
والمَقْصِدُ الأسْنَى لهم دارُ الْبَقَا
دخَلتْهentered it منthrough بابِthe gate of الفَناءِpassing away الناسُpeople
دخَلتْه من بابِ الفَناءِ الناسُ
And their loftiest destination is the abode of eternity.
And their final home is the abode of eternity
People have entered it through the gate of passing away.
