أيُغْلَبُ من له الأَمْلاكُ جُنْدٌ

أيُغْلَبُ من له الأَمْلاكُ جُنْدٌ

ورَبُّ العَرْشِ قد أمْسَى مُعِينَا

ورَبُّ العَرْشِ قد أمْسَى مُعِينَا

Can he be defeated whose troops are the angels,

Can one who owns the kingdoms be defeated by an army

while the Lord of the Throne has indeed become his helper?

When the Lord of the Throne has come to his aid

وقَبْلَ جُيوشِه هُزِمَتْ قلوبٌ

وقَبْلَ جُيوشِه هُزِمَتْ قلوبٌ

برُعْبٍ خِلْتَه سَبَق المَنُونَا

برُعْبٍ خِلْتَه سَبَق المَنُونَا

And ahead of his armies, hearts were routed

And before His legions hearts have been routed

by a terror you thought had outrun death.

In terror - Death itself took flight ahead of them

ولو ثَبَتُوا لَفَرَّ الْهامُ منهمْ

ولو ثَبَتُوا لَفَرَّ الْهامُ منهمْ

وأرْوَاحٌ لهم كانتْ كَمِينَا

وأرْوَاحٌ لهم كانتْ كَمِينَا

And had they stood firm, their heads would have fled from them,

And had they stood firm, panic would have deserted them

and their souls, which had lain concealed.

And their souls had lain in wait for it
