وحَقِّكُمُ مَدِيحِي في عُلاكمْ

وحَقِّكُمُ مَدِيحِي في عُلاكمْ

له نَشْرٌ ببُرْدِ الدهرِ عاطِرْ

له نَشْرٌ ببُرْدِ الدهرِ عاطِرْ

And by your honor, my praise of your eminence

has a sweet fragrance upon the mantle of time.

وعَرْفُ العُودِ يُخْبِر مَن رَآهُ

وعَرْفُ العُودِ يُخْبِر مَن رَآهُ

بِطيبٍ فيه تنْقُله المَجامِرْ

بِطيبٍ فيه تنْقُله المَجامِرْ

And the scent of aloeswood tells whoever beholds it

of the perfume within it, which the censers convey.
