A chief—a lord sought my intercession
Plead for me, my lord, with the Healer
with him over a matter—is a physician to my heart.

فقلتso I said استرحrest واعفهand spare him أنهthat he/it
فقلت استرح واعفه أنه
إذاwhen مطلdrags on الداءملthe illness; grows weary الطبيبthe physician
إذا مطل الداءمل الطبيب
So I said: Rest and spare him, for

when the illness drags on, the physician grows weary.
