قالواthey said نراكwe see you سقطْتَyou fell منfrom رُتَبٍranks
قالوا نراك سقطْتَ من رُتَبٍ
أترىdo you think الزمانَTime بمثلin something like ذاthis غلِطَاerred
أترى الزمانَ بمثل ذا غلِطَا
They said, “We see you have fallen in rank.
They said, "We see you have fallen from your rank,
Do you think Time erred in such a thing?”
Do you think time makes mistakes like that?"
قلتُI said الشياطينُthe devils اللئامُthe vile عَلَوْاًrose
قلتُ الشياطينُ اللئامُ عَلَوْاً
ولذاand so الشهابُthe shooting star (Shihab) منfrom العُلىthe heights سقطَاfell
ولذا الشهابُ من العُلى سقطَا
I said, “The vile devils have risen,
I said, "Vile demons have risen up,
And so Shihab, the shooting star, fell from the heights.”
And so this shooting star fell from on high."
