وقد زعموا أن الجواد كبا عليه

وقد زعموا أن الجواد كبا عليه

وحاشاه من عيب يضاف إليه

وحاشاه من عيب يضاف إليه

They have claimed that the steed stumbled beneath him;

They claimed the steed was unfit for the task

yet far be it from any fault ascribed to it.

Far be it from any flaw attributed to him

ولكن رأى سلطان عز وهيبة

ولكن رأى سلطان عز وهيبة

فقبّل وجه الأرض بين يديه

فقبّل وجه الأرض بين يديه

Rather, it saw a sultan of glory and awe,

Yet the sultan of might and awe looked upon him

so it kissed the face of the earth before him.

And he bowed to kiss the earth before his hands
