يا من غدا لعلوم الناس منتحلا
ويحتميand shields himself عنfrom سؤالquestioning العلمknowledge بالشممwith haughtiness
ويحتمي عن سؤال العلم بالشمم
O you who have taken to claiming others’ learning as your own,
O you who have come to claim other people's learning as your own,
and, out of haughty pride, refrain from asking about knowledge—
and shield yourself from questions of knowledge with haughtiness,
استغفرseek forgiveness اللهGod منfor قولاspeech بلاwithout عملaction
استغفر الله من قولا بلا عمل
لقدindeed نسبتyou have ascribed بهthrough it نسلاoffspring لذيto one with عقمbarrenness
لقد نسبت به نسلا لذي عقم
ask God’s forgiveness for speaking without knowledge:
seek God's forgiveness for speech without action;
by that, you have credited a barren man with offspring.
indeed, you have thereby ascribed offspring to one who is barren.
