ماتdied الكمالal-Kamal (Perfection) فقالواand they said

Perfection died, and they said:
Al-Kamal died, and they said:
Reason and majesty have departed.
“Wisdom and majesty have departed.”

فللعيون بكاءٌ

وللدموع انهمال
So the eyes must weep,
So the eyes weep,
and tears must stream.
and the tears stream down.

ولوعة لا تزال
Within my heart is grief,
And in my heart is sorrow,
and an anguish that will not cease.
and burning grief that never ceases.

What learning and forbearance—
What learning and forbearance
those sands have buried with him!
those sands have buried!

Right guidance wept for him
Right guidance wept for him
blood, while error rejoiced.
tears of blood, and misguidance rejoiced.

A loss appeared in goodness,
A loss has appeared in goodness,
and disorder, when he passed away.
and disarray, since he passed away.

وقد تولّى الكمالُ
How could you fail to see a loss,
And how could you fail to see a loss,
when Perfection itself has gone?
when al-Kamal—Perfection—has departed?

His branches of learning are firmly rooted;
His branches of learning stand firmly rooted;
before them, mountains give way.
before them, mountains give way.

والفضل والأفضال
In his grave, knowledge lies entombed,
In his grave, learning lies at rest,
with virtue and beneficence.
along with excellence and benefactions.

So may they never cease above him—

the heavy clouds, pouring rain.
