لأنك لم تبرح فتى طيب الأصل

Your praise, Shams al-Din—its fragrance has spread abroad,

Your praise, Shams al-Din, has spread its fragrance,

for you have never ceased to be a young man of noble stock.

أفاض علينا بحر علمك قطرة

أفاض علينا بحر علمك قطرة

بها تزال عن ألبابنا ظمأ الجهل

بها تزال عن ألبابنا ظمأ الجهل

The ocean of your learning has poured upon us a single drop,

The sea of your knowledge has poured a drop upon us;

by which the thirst of ignorance is banished from our minds.

through it, the thirst of ignorance is removed from our minds.
