يَاO خَالِقَCreator of الْخَلْقِcreation يَاO قَهَّارُAll-Subduer يَاO أحَدُOne
يَا خَالِقَ الْخَلْقِ يَا قَهَّارُ يَا أحَدُ
يَاO مَالِكَMaster of الْمُلْكِdominion يَاO جَبَّارُCompeller يَاO صَمَدُEternal Refuge
يَا مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ يَا جَبَّارُ يَا صَمَدُ
O Creator of creation, O All-Subduer, O One!
O Creator of all things, O Almighty, O One
O Master of dominion, O Compeller, O Eternal Refuge!
O Possessor of the kingdom, O Compeller, O Eternal
أنْتَYou القَرِيبthe Near One المُجِيبthe Answerer المُسْتَغَاثthe One sought for help إذَاwhen
أنْتَ القَرِيب المُجِيب المُسْتَغَاث إذَا
عَزَّbecame scarce النصيرُthe helper وَخَانَand failed الصَّبْرُpatience وَالجَلَدُand fortitude
عَزَّ النصيرُ وَخَانَ الصَّبْرُ وَالجَلَدُ
You are the Near One, the Answerer, the One sought for help when
You are the Near, the Responder, the One called upon when
a helper is scarce and patience and fortitude fail.
Help is scarce, patience fails, and endurance flees
قَدْhas مَسَّنِيtouched me ضُرُّharm of شَيْطَانٍa devil عليَّagainst me بَغَىtransgressed
قَدْ مَسَّنِي ضُرُّ شَيْطَانٍ عليَّ بَغَى
ووعدُكَand Your promise الحَقُّis true فَاكْشِفْso dispel ضُرَّthe harm of ماwhat أجِدُI experience
ووعدُكَ الحَقُّ فَاكْشِفْ ضُرَّ ما أجِدُ
The harm of a devil who transgressed against me has touched me.
An evil devil has afflicted me, he attacked me unjustly
And Your promise is true; so dispel the harm I suffer.
Your promise is true, so remove the harm I suffer
وَخُذْand exact بِحَقِّيَfor my rightful claim مِمَّنْfrom whoever ضَرَّنِيharmed me عَجِلاًswiftly
وَخُذْ بِحَقِّيَ مِمَّنْ ضَرَّنِي عَجِلاً
أخْذاًa punishment وبيلاًgrievous فَأنْتَfor You الْقَادِرُthe All-Powerful الأحدُthe One
أخْذاً وبيلاً فَأنْتَ الْقَادِرُ الأحدُ
And swiftly exact my due from whoever harmed me,
And for my sake, swiftly seize
with grievous punishment, for You are the All-Powerful, the One.
My oppressor, a seizure of might, for You are the One, the Powerful
وَاغْفِرْand forgive ذُنُوبِيmy sins وَسَامِحْand pardon مَاwhat جَنَيْتُI have committed فَمَاfor never
وَاغْفِرْ ذُنُوبِي وَسَامِحْ مَا جَنَيْتُ فَمَا
قَدْhas خَابَbeen disappointed عَبْدٌa servant عَلَىupon رُحْمَاكَYour mercy يَعْتَمِدُrelies
قَدْ خَابَ عَبْدٌ عَلَى رُحْمَاكَ يَعْتَمِدُ
And forgive my sins and pardon what I have committed, for never
Forgive my sins, pardon my wrongs, for no
has a servant relying on Your mercy been disappointed.
Servant relying on Your mercy is ever disappointed
يَاO خَيْرَbest of مَنْthose يَرْتَجِيhopes for المَظْلُومُthe oppressed one نُصْرَتَهhis aid
يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ يَرْتَجِي المَظْلُومُ نُصْرَتَه
أنْتَYou المَلاَذthe refuge وَأنْتَand You المَدُّthe aid وَالْعُدَدُand the resources
أنْتَ المَلاَذ وَأنْتَ المَدُّ وَالْعُدَدُ
O best of those whose aid the oppressed hope for,
O Best of those from whom the wronged hope for aid
You are the refuge, and You are the aid and the resources.
You are the refuge, the pillar, the support
إنِّيindeed I دَعَوْتُكَcalled upon You مُضْطَرّاًin distress فَخُذْso take بِيَدِيby my hand
إنِّي دَعَوْتُكَ مُضْطَرّاً فَخُذْ بِيَدِي
مِنْfrom شَرّthe evil of مَاwhat رَاشَهfletched it الأعْدَاthe enemies وَمَاand what قَصَدواthey intended
مِنْ شَرّ مَا رَاشَه الأعْدَا وَمَا قَصَدوا
Indeed, I have called upon You in distress; so take me by the hand
I called You distressed, so take me by the hand
away from the evil of the shafts the enemies have fletched and of what they intend.
From the evil the enemies schemed and plotted
وَجِئْتُand I have come مُسْتَنْصِراًseeking aid بِالْمُصْطَفَىthrough al-Mustafa كَرَماًas a gracious favor
وَجِئْتُ مُسْتَنْصِراً بِالْمُصْطَفَى كَرَماً
وَكَيْفَand how أخْذَلI am forsaken وَهْوَwhile he العَوْنthe aid وَالْعَضدُand the supporting arm
وَكَيْفَ أخْذَل وَهْوَ العَوْن وَالْعَضدُ
And I have come seeking aid through al-Mustafa, as a gracious favor.
I came seeking aid through the Chosen One, an honor,
And how could I be forsaken when he is aid and the supporting arm?
How could he abandon me when he is the help and pillar?
أمْor كَيْفَhow أظْلَمI am wronged وَالْمُخْتَارwhile al-Mukhtar مُعْتَمَدِيmy mainstay
أمْ كَيْفَ أظْلَم وَالْمُخْتَار مُعْتَمَدِي
وَمَدْحُهand praising him مَلْجَئِيmy refuge وَالرُّكْنand the pillar وَالسَّنَدُand the support
وَمَدْحُه مَلْجَئِي وَالرُّكْن وَالسَّنَدُ
Or how could I be wronged when al-Mukhtar is my mainstay,
Or how could he oppress when the Elect is my reliance,
and praising him is my refuge, my pillar, and my support?
His praise my shelter, pillar and support?
