شَفَقاً تَقَطَّعَ في سماءِ زُمُرُّدِ
I imagined the anemones, when they appeared among his crops,
When the cornflowers appeared in bloom
as twilight torn into fragments in an emerald sky.
Their glow spread across the emerald sky
وَكَأنَّand as though أسْوَدَُblack إذَاwhen لاَحَظْتَهُyou gazed upon it
وَكَأنَّ أسْوَدَُ إذَا لاَحَظْتَهُ
آثَارُtraces كُحْلٍkohl فيin لَوَاحِظِeyes أرْمَدِsomeone sore-eyed
آثَارُ كُحْلٍ في لَوَاحِظِ أرْمَدِ
And the black, when you gazed upon it, seemed
As though when you looked upon them
like traces of kohl in the eyes of someone sore-eyed.
You saw kohl traces in the eyes of one fair
