بَوّأhe established الملكَkingship رتبةَthe rank of الظَّفَرِtriumph
بَوّأ الملكَ رتبةَ الظَّفَرِ
بِعَوَالِيwith the tips of الرّمَاحْthe spears
بِعَوَالِي الرّمَاحْ
He raised kingship to the rank of triumph
The king attained the rank of victory
With the tips of spears,
With the tips of spears.
وَمَحَىand dispelled عَزْمُهُhis resolve دُجَىthe darkness of الغِيَرِreversals of fortune
وَمَحَى عَزْمُهُ دُجَى الغِيَرِ
بصباحwith the dawn of الصّفَاحْthe sword blades
بصباح الصّفَاحْ
And his resolve dispelled the darkness of adversity
His resolve wiped out the darkness of others
With the dawn of sword blades.
With the dawn of swords flashing.
