يَاO ابهجَmost radiant مَنْthose who غَدَاhave become عَلَىto النَّاسِthe people سَعُوفْreadily helpful
يَا ابهجَ مَنْ غَدَا عَلَى النَّاسِ سَعُوفْ
يَاO بَرbenevolent رؤُوفْcompassionate
يَا بَر رؤُوفْ
O most radiant one, who came forth to succor humankind,
O most radiant of those who have become helpers to the people,
O benevolent, compassionate one!
O benevolent, compassionate one,
يَاO افْضَلَbest شَافِعٍintercessor إِذَاwhen الرسْلُthe messengers وُقُوفْstanding
يَا افْضَلَ شَافِعٍ إِذَا الرسْلُ وُقُوفْ
وَالنَّاسُand the people صُفُوفْin rows
وَالنَّاسُ صُفُوفْ
O best of intercessors, when the messengers stand
O best of intercessors, when the messengers stand,
and all the people are arrayed in ranks,
and the people are in rows,
اشفعْintercede كَرَماًout of generosity فِيمَاconcerning what جَنَاهُhe committed it ابنُson of الخَلُوفْal-Khaluf
اشفعْ كَرَماً فِيمَا جَنَاهُ ابنُ الخَلُوفْ
فَالذَّنْبُfor the sin مَخُوفْfearsome
فَالذَّنْبُ مَخُوفْ
In your generosity, intercede for what Ibn al-Khalūf has committed,
Graciously intercede for what Ibn al-Khaluf has committed,
for sin is a thing to be feared.
for the sin is fearsome.
