And when the nightingales repeat their melodies
When the nightingales return their melodies
And linger in repetition and trilling,
And prolong their warbling songs and antiphons

وَسَقى ثغورَ الروضِ كَأْسُ دموعي
The winds of longing shake the sand dune’s boughs,
The breezes of yearning shake the boughs of tenderness
And the cup of my tears waters the garden’s mouths.
And my cup of tears waters the meadows of the soul
