وَحَمَّامٍand a bathhouse حَكَتْنِيresembled me فِيin الْتِهَابٍburning
وَحَمَّامٍ حَكَتْنِي فِي الْتِهَابٍ
وَفِيand in غَمٍّsorrow وَفيand in سَكْبshedding الدمُوعِthe tears
وَفِي غَمٍّ وَفي سَكْب الدمُوعِ
And a bathhouse mirrored me in burning,
And a dove cooed to me in fervent tones
And in sorrow, and in shedding tears,
In sadness, in tears pouring forth unrestrained,
كَمُرْضِعَةٍlike a nursing mother تَدَاعَاهَاcalled to her بَنُوهَاher sons
كَمُرْضِعَةٍ تَدَاعَاهَا بَنُوهَا
لترضعهمto nurse them فَأحْنَتْso she bent بِالضلُوعِwith the ribs
لترضعهم فَأحْنَتْ بِالضلُوعِ
Like a nursing mother whose sons called to her
Like a nursing mother whom her children surround
To nurse them, so she bent her ribs.
Begging her milk, and she bends with tender breast
