إقْبَلْaccept هَدِيَّةَthe gift of مَادِحِa praiser مُتَشَفعِseeking intercession
إقْبَلْ هَدِيَّةَ مَادِحِ مُتَشَفعِ
ياO خَيْرَbest مَمْدوحٍone praised وأكرَمَand most generous شَافِعِintercessor
يا خَيْرَ مَمْدوحٍ وأكرَمَ شَافِعِ
Accept the gift of a panegyrist seeking your intercession;
Accept the gift of a praiser seeking intercession,
O best of those praised, and noblest intercessor.
O best of those praised and most generous intercessor.
وارحمْand show mercy فإنَّfor indeed مَطامِعيmy hopes بكَon you عُلِّقتْhave been pinned
وارحمْ فإنَّ مَطامِعي بكَ عُلِّقتْ
فَامْنُنْso bestow favor وحقِّقْand fulfill بالقَبولِthrough acceptance مطامِعِيmy hopes
فَامْنُنْ وحقِّقْ بالقَبولِ مطامِعِي
Have mercy on me, for my hopes have been fastened to you;
And show mercy, for my hopes are pinned on you.
Be gracious, then, and fulfill my hopes by accepting it.
So bestow your favor, and fulfill my hopes through acceptance.
