أيا خاتم الإرسال يا خير خاتم

ويا فاتح العلياء من قبل آدم

O seal of messengership, O best of seals.

And O opener of the heights of glory, from before Adam.

ويا مصطفى من قبل تكوين كائن

ويا مرتضى من بين جمع العوالم

And O chosen one from before the forming of any being.

And O favored one from among all the worlds.

ويا منتقى من جوهر الحسن والبها

ويا مجتبى من روض زهر الكمائم

And O one selected from the essence of beauty and splendor.

And O elect one from the garden of blossoms in their sheaths.

ويا أحمد يا طيب يا محمد

ويا خيرة الرحمن من آل هاشم

And O Ahmad, O pure one, O Muhammad.

And O the All-Merciful's chosen one from the house of Hashim.

ويا جد أبناء البتول الرضا ويا

أبا القاسم المختار يا أبن الأكارم

And O grandfather of the Chaste One's sons, O favored one, and O

Abu al-Qasim, the chosen one, O son of the most noble.

ويا قثم ويا شافع يا مشفع

ويا كهف صدق يا مكين الدعائم

And O Qutham, O intercessor, O you whose intercession is accepted.

And O refuge of truth, O you of firmly grounded pillars.

ويا مقيم يا طاهر يا مقدس

ويا حق يا داعي إلى خير راحم

And O upholder, O pure one, O sanctified one.

And O truth, O caller to the best of those who show mercy.

ويا منذر يا صادق يا مبشر

ويا صفوة الخيار يا خير خاتم

And O warner, O truthful one, O bearer of good tidings.

And O choicest of the elect, O best of seals.

ويا مقسط يا مصلح يا مهيمن

ويا قائم لم يرض أخذ المغارم

And O just one, O peacemaker, O guardian.

And O steadfast one who did not consent to exacting penalties.

ويا روح يا قدوس يا قدم الوفا

ويا أذن خير يا خطيب المواسم

And O spirit, O holy one, O sure footing of fidelity.

And O ear of goodness, O orator of the seasonal gatherings.

ويا محسن يا مجمل يا مطهر

ويا أمن الصحب الليوث العواصم

And O benefactor, O gracious one, O purifier.

And O safety of the companions, the protecting lions.

ويا حاشر يا عاقب يا معزز

ويا آمن وافى بمنع النمائم

And O gatherer, O last successor, O strengthener.

And O secure one who came forbidding tale-bearing.

ويا نور يا طه ويا زين يا فتى

ويا قاف يا ياسين يا نور آدم

And O light, O Ta-Ha, O adornment, O youth.

And O Qaf, O Ya-Sin, O light of Adam.

ويا أيها المزمل الكاشف الردى

بحق وعزم يا نبي الملاحم

And O enwrapped one, who dispels destruction

with truth and resolve, O prophet of great battles.

ويا أيها المدثر المقتفى التقي

الأمين المنجي من لهيب السمائم

And O cloaked one, whose example is followed, the devout one,

the trustworthy deliverer from the blaze of scorching winds.

ويا أيها الهادي الشهير الذي ارتقى

مقاما على فوق السما والنعائم

And O renowned guide who rose

to a station high above heaven and the Naʿāʾim stars.

ويا أيها الحامي الغفور الصفوح

والسراج المنير المرتجى للصوادم

And O protector, forgiving and forbearing,

and shining lamp, looked to when calamities strike.

ويا أيها الطهر الشريف العظيم

والأمير المطاع المرتضى للمقاسم

And O pure one, noble and great,

and obeyed commander, trusted with apportionments.

ويا أيها القاضي الوكيل الخبير

والمنور والكافي هبوب القواصم

And O judge, trustee, and discerning one,

and illuminator, who wards off the blasts of shattering calamities.

ويا أيها البر الرؤوف الذي اغتذى

رحيما كريما غير ضب وظالم

And O benevolent, compassionate one, who was nurtured

to be merciful and generous, neither spiteful nor unjust.

ويا أيها الجبار يا منقذ غدا

حكيم عليما غير باغ وآثم

And O mighty one, O deliverer, who became

wise and learned, neither transgressor nor sinner.

ويا نجم يا مأمون يا متصدق

ويا عدل يا محمود يا خير عاصم

And O star, O trusted one, O giver of alms.

And O justice, O praised one, O best protector.

ويا خافض يا رافع يا محلل

ويا مرغما بالحل أنف المحارم

And O abaser, O exalter, O declarer of what is lawful.

And O you who, through the lawful, humbled the nose of forbidden things.

ويا مضح الإيمان يا مثبت التقى

ويا ماحي الإشراك يا ذا العزائم

And O you who make faith manifest, O confirmer of piety.

And O effacer of idolatry, O possessor of firm resolves.

ويا كاسر الأصنام يا شاهد الهدى

بسمر عوال أو بيض صوارم

And O breaker of idols, O witness to guidance,

with tall brown spears or white, keen-edged swords.

ويا خائض النقع المثار إذا طمى

بغر كرام فوق غر كرائم

And O you who plunge into the stirred-up dust when it surges,

with noble, bright-faced men atop noble, white-blazed steeds.

ويا راكب العضبا ويا حرب ملحد

ويا أسد الهيجا وسلم المسالم

And O rider of al-ʿAḍbāʾ, O foe of the heretic.

And O lion of battle, and peace to the peaceable.

ويا لعروة الوثقى ويا مانع الحمى

ويا مطلق الأسرى ومعطي الغنائم

And O firmest handhold, O defender of the sanctuary.

And O freer of captives and giver of spoils.

ويا صبح حق قد محا ليل باطل

ويا سيف عدل كف أيدي المظالم

And O dawn of truth that has effaced the night of falsehood.

And O sword of justice that restrained the hands of oppression.

ويا عبد رب العرش يا ذكره الذي

تعوّذ من كيد العدا بالتمائم

And O servant of the Lord of the Throne, O His remembrance, which

gives refuge from foes' plots through protective charms.

ويا بهجة الدارين يا معدن الصفا

ويا كنز أغلاق معاني المغانم

And O joy of both abodes, O mine of purity.

And O treasure of the locked meanings of bounties.

ويا صاحب السلطان يا متوكل

ويا مولى النعما ومولى الخضارم

And O possessor of authority, O one who relies on God.

And O lord of blessings and lord of the great-hearted.

ويا قطب أفلاك المعاني وبدرها

ويا شمسها الماحي دياجي العواتم

And O axis of the spheres of meanings, and their full moon.

And O their sun, effacing the darkness of murky nights.

ويا نعمة الله التي عم نفعها

جميع البرايا من جهول وعالم

And O God's blessing, whose benefit embraced

all creatures, ignorant and learned alike.

ويا رحمة الله التي جادت الورى

بمنهل جود دائم متراكم

And O God's mercy, which showered creation

with a fountain of unceasing, ever-mounting generosity.

ويا شاهدا بالحق يا مرسلا دعا

لنيل حلال واجتناب محارم

And O witness to truth, O messenger who called

to attain the lawful and avoid forbidden things.

ويا صاحب المعراج والتاج واللوا

ويا ذا المعالي والبها والمكارم

And O possessor of the Ascension, the crown, and the banner.

And O possessor of eminence, splendor, and noble virtues.

ويا ذا الصراط المستقيم وصاحب

الوسيلة والحوض الذكي النواسم

And O possessor of the straight path, and master of

the Wasilah and the pool whose breezes are fragrant.

ويا صاحب البرهان يا من بكفه

زلال لظمآن وزاد لطاعم

And O bearer of proof, O you in whose palm

is clear water for the thirsty and provisions for the eater.

ويا من أعاد العين بعد ذهابها

وأعملها تفلى الفلا بالمآسم

And O you who restored the eye after it was lost,

and set it working, scanning the wilderness by its landmarks.

ويا من أعاد الجدل بالهز صارما

لينفي به رسم النفاق المصادم

And O you who, with a shake, turned the branch into a sharp sword,

to erase with it the traces of defiant hypocrisy.

ويا من أجار الضبي من كيد صائد

فلم يخش بعد الأمن حز الغلاصم

And O you who sheltered the gazelle from a hunter's cunning,

so, once safe, it no longer feared the slitting of its throat.

ويا من به لاذ البعير ومن شفى

بدعوته من كل داء ملازم

And O you with whom the camel sought refuge, and who cured,

through your supplication, every persistent ailment.

ويا من حماه الله في الغار إذا دعا

ويا من وقاه الحر برد الغمائم

And O you whom God sheltered in the cave when you prayed.

And O you whom the coolness of clouds shielded from heat.

ويا من كفاه الجوع والبرد والظما

منجيه من كيد اللئام اللوائم

And O you, spared hunger, cold, and thirst

by your deliverer from the plots of ignoble fault-finders.

ويا من بكفيه الحجارة سبحت

وحيته بالتسليم خرس البهائم

And O you in whose two palms the stones glorified God,

and the speechless beasts greeted you with peace.

ويا من إليه الجذع قد حن وقد نأى

كما حن مشتاق لتلك الغمائم

And O you toward whom the trunk yearned, though you had gone away,

as a longing lover yearns for those clouds.

ويا خير مبعوث إلى خير أمّة

بآيات صدق نافعات تمائم

And O best messenger sent to the best community,

with signs of truth, beneficial protective charms.

ويا سيّد المخلوق طرا ومن به

تسامى افتخار العرب فوق الأعاجم

And O lord of all creation, through whom

the Arabs' pride rose above the non-Arabs.

ويا غوث مضطر ويا أمن خائف

ويا غيث محتاج ويا رشد هائم

And O help of the distressed, O safety of the fearful.

And O rain for the needy, O guidance for the bewildered wanderer.

ويا حصن من يأوي إلى كهف جاهه

ويا خير من يرجى لدفع العظائم

And O fortress of one who shelters in the cave of your standing.

And O best of those looked to for averting great calamities.

ويا ملجأ الراجي به الغفور في غد

ويا ملجأ العاصي الغرور الملازم

And O refuge of one who, through you, hopes in the All-Forgiving on the morrow.

And O refuge of the persistently deceitful sinner.

ويا من أناديه إذا الخطب غالني

لفرط جهالات وعظم مآثم

And O you whom I call when calamity overwhelms me,

through excessive ignorance and the enormity of my sins.

قصدتك ذا جرم وأنت مشفع

فكن شافعي من موبقات الجرائم

I have turned to you bearing guilt, and your intercession is accepted.

So be my intercessor against ruinous sins.

وخذ بيدي إن زلت الرجل واحمني

بجاهك من شر الزمان المخاصم

And take my hand if my foot slips, and protect me

by your standing, from the evil of hostile time.

وكن لجميع المسلمين إذا دعوا

لنيل مثوبات ورد مظالم

And be there for all Muslims when they pray

to obtain rewards and redress wrongs.

فأنت حبيب الله والشافع الذي

نعدك ذخرا يوم عرض المآثم

For you are God's beloved, and the intercessor whom

we count as a treasure on the day sins are displayed.

وأنت الذي أرجو وحاشاك أن أرى

مضلل سعي بين هاد وراحم

And you are the one I hope in; far be it from you that I be seen

with my striving led astray between a guide and a merciful one.

عليك سلام الله ما لاح بارق

وما ناح قمري بقضب نواعم

God's peace be upon you as long as lightning flashes,

and as long as a turtledove mourns on tender boughs,

وآلك والأصحاب ما هبّ عاطر

وما هل قطر من جفون الغمائم

and upon your family and companions, as long as a fragrant breeze blows,

and as long as rain falls from the eyelids of clouds.
