His smile revealed pearls arrayed,
And the dawn of his visage shed radiance.
His slender form swayed like a willow wand
As he flirted through a diaphanous veil.
The eyes of a gazelle captivated my heart,
So hear the truth from one heartsick and frail.
When he appeared, my beauty was outshone -
What wonder in such a noble full moon!
His cheek took on the hue of a blushing rose,
Did you ever see a rose in hellfire bloom?
With that face he torments me – marvel how
One suffers bliss in the heat of his doom!
The breeze of his charm called out to my mind,
“I am maddened by the love of this breeze!”
When his glances speak to the heart within,
Ask not after the silent heart in me.
Those are the eyes that seduce whom they gaze on,
Beware the sorcery of their art supreme!
Erect of stature, he bent his slender frame
To deftly stab with the upright spear.
His cheeks say “Come!” at the high recess,
To the consecrated rock amid ruins.
The straightness of his brow guides us
Into dangerous paths blow adversely.
I told his kind glance of my condition -
What can the frail one do for one so frail?
My heart inclined toward the sweetness of his memory
As the spear inclines along the breeze.
