The women appeared to us by the valley of Mina,

And one of their herd of gazelles ensnared me,

With beauty cloaked in the robes of youth,

Fresh, and with radiant splendor that had not run dry.

And I sought union with her, but was denied it,

And she departed with the lifeblood of an unsought lover.

And I drank her in with all my limbs, yet

I never drank the sweet delight of union with her.

And I stole her from among those I beheld

In the valley, while the watchers were unaware of me.
