Do not ask me about gray hair: ever since it
Do not ask me about gray hair, for when

It covered my head unwillingly, passion left me.

Nothing brought gray hair to the partings of my hair but

the torment of beautiful women, and the days.
Except the sorrow of singers and days.

لِيto me التّجاريبُexperiences رُمتَyou sought ماwhat لاnot يُرامُcan be attained
And whenever I sought to turn away from it, experience said
And when I shy away from it, experiences say to me
to me, 'You sought what cannot be attained.'
“You have shied away from what is not to be shied from.”
