بيني وبين عواذلِي

في الحبِّ أطرافُ الرماحِ

في الحبِّ أطرافُ الرماحِ

Between me and my reproachers,

in love, stand the spearpoints.

أنَا خارجيٌّ في الهوى

أنَا خارجيٌّ في الهوى

لا حُكمَ إلّا للمِلاحِ

لا حُكمَ إلّا للمِلاحِ

I am a Kharijite in passion:

no authority belongs to any but the beautiful.
