أنيليgrant اليومَtoday مَنthe one who يهواكloves you نيلاa favor
Ah, O Abla, fairest of humans and jinn!
O most perfect of the two burdens created!
Grant a favor today to the one who loves you.
Grant today to him who loves you, attainment.
يميلinclines إليكtoward you منout of كَلَفٍardent love ولكنْbut
إِلىtoward مَنone who لاdoes not يميلincline إليهtoward him ميلاany inclination
He inclines toward you out of ardent love—but
He who wearies himself inclines towards you,
toward one who does not incline toward him at all.
Yet he who does not weary himself, inclines not.
فإنْso if لمnot يأتِهِcomes to him منكمْfrom you رسولٌa messenger
نهاراًby day فاِجعلوهthen send him إليهto him ليلاby night
So if no messenger from you comes to him
If no messenger comes to him from you by day,
by day, then send that messenger to him by night.
Then make him a messenger to come by night.
وقدand already قَطَرdripped الجفاءُcoldness فأوْسَعوهso they increased it
فَسالَso it flowed عليَّover me بعدafter القَطْرthe dripping سيلاa torrent
And coldness had dripped, so they increased it,
And if hardship has poured forth, then make it flow,
and after the dripping, it flowed over me in a torrent.
So it spills over me after the pouring, a torrent.
ولوand if كنتُI were الممكَّنَgiven power منover مُراديmy wish
جررتُI would trail علىalong الطريقthe road إِليكto you ذيلاa garment's hem
And were I able to attain my wish,
If I were enabled to attain my desire,
I would trail my garment's hem along the road to you.
I would drag my train along the road to you.
فإنْso if لمnot آتكمْI come to you فيon ظهرthe back of طِرْفٍa noble steed
رَكبتُI shall ride أخامصيthe arches of my feet نُجُباًnoble camels وخيلاand horses
So if I do not come to you on a noble steed's back,
But if I do not come to you on a morning journey,
I shall ride the arches of my feet as noble camels and horses.
I will ride my toes, traveling on my mount.
