أسيَّدَنا الشريفَ عَلَوْتَ عن أنْ

تضاف إليك أوصافُ الجلالَهْ

O our master, O Sharif, you are too exalted for

O our noble lord, you are too exalted for

لأنّك أوْحَدٌ والنّاسُ دونٌ

لأنّك أوْحَدٌ والنّاسُ دونٌ

ومَن يسمو لمجدك أنْ ينالَه

ومَن يسمو لمجدك أنْ ينالَه

For you are unequalled, while all people stand beneath;

For you are peerless, and others stand below you;

who could aspire to your glory and ever attain it?

وفُتَّ وزدتَ فضلاً إنّ فضلاً

وفُتَّ وزدتَ فضلاً إنّ فضلاً

كفضلك لا تحيط به مقالَه

You have surpassed all and risen still higher in excellence—for an excellence

And you have surpassed others and excelled in merit; indeed, merit

such as yours no utterance can encompass.

like yours cannot be encompassed by speech.

ولي أمَلٌ سأُدركه وشيكاً

بعون اللَّه فيك بلا محالَه

بعون اللَّه فيك بلا محالَه

I have a hope that I shall soon attain,

with God’s help, through you, without fail.

وليس على مُوَالاتي مزيدٌ

وليس على مُوَالاتي مزيدٌ

لأنّي لم أرثْها عن كلالَه

My allegiance could admit no increase,

And my loyalty cannot be surpassed,

for I did not inherit it through collateral kin.
