Tell one obsessed with reproaching me

in the evening and the morning:

Do not blame me for loving the fair-

skinned women, for I am not sober.

What heart is free, in its inner

self, from love of the beautiful?

Be as you wish, and leave me

to my corruption and my going about.

What burden falls on others because of me

in my corruption and my righteousness?

And if you have succeeded, then leave

    humankind something other than success.
