We are indeed a people: whenever we are called upon
We are a people, when called upon
by one captive to calamity, relief answers him.
The captive of calamities is relieved

Men of lofty standing: the arrow of their judgment has
Endowed with high resolve, their way unerring
no wayward flight, nor is there any bend in its shaft.
No fickleness, no crookedness their sense

Their faces dispel the darkness from around them,
They dispel the gloom, their faces radiating light
so they are lamps for them wherever they travel by night.
Illuminating their path wherever they go
