النَبتُthe plants بَينَbetween مَفَضَّضٍsilvered وَمُذَهَّبِand gilded
وَالغَيمُand the clouds بَينَbetween مُشَمِّرٍgathered up وَمُطَنَّبِand spread out
The plants—some silvered, some gilded;
The blossoms amidst the parted and gilded leaves,
And the clouds—some gathered up, some spread wide;
The clouds amidst the wrapped and peaked ones,
وَالماءُand the water بَينَbetween مَخَوَّدٍhelmeted وَمَجوشَنٍand clad in armor
وَالقُضبُand the boughs بَينَbetween مُكَوَّرٍturbaned وَمُعَصَّبِand bound with headbands
And the water—some helmeted, some clad in armor;
The water amidst the scooped out and tumbling ones,
And the boughs—some turbaned, some bound with headbands.
The twigs amidst the bent and twisted ones,
وَكأَنَّand as though ريحَthe scent الراحِwine فيin إِبريقِهاits ewer
نَدٌّfragrant incense تَضَوَّعَdiffused its fragrance مِنfrom جَوانِبِthe sides مِشجَبِa clothes stand
And it is as though the scent of wine within its ewer
And as if the breeze of comfort in its jug,
Were incense wafting from the sides of a clothes stand.
A light that got illuminated from the sides of an arbor,
فَاِجلُso dispel الظَلامَthe darkness مِنَfrom الأَسىsorrow بِسِراجِهاwith its lamp
فَالأَرضِfor the earth قَدindeed وَقَدَتkindled سِراجَthe lamp القُطرُبِthe ghoul
So dispel sorrow's darkness with its lamp,
So take away the darkness of sorrow with its lantern,
For the earth has kindled the ghoul's lamp.
For the land has ignited the lantern of al-qutrub.
