تَكَدَّرَbecame clouded مَنthe one whom تُحِبُّyou love وَأَنتَwhile you صافِclear
تَكَدَّرَ مَن تُحِبُّ وَأَنتَ صافِ
تَواصَلَcontinued مِنهُfrom him مُتَّصِلَunbroken الخِلافِthe discord
تَواصَلَ مِنهُ مُتَّصِلَ الخِلافِ
The one you love has grown clouded, while you remain clear.
He whom you love became troubled while you were sincere
From him, discord has continued unbroken.
Connected with breaking ties when connected
فَلاso do not تَندَمregret عَلىfor حِفظٍkeeping لِعَهدٍof a pledge
فَلا تَندَم عَلى حِفظٍ لِعَهدٍ
فَحِفظُfor keeping العَهدِthe pledge مِنamong شِيَمِthe traits of الظِرافِthe refined
فَحِفظُ العَهدِ مِن شِيَمِ الظِرافِ
So do not regret keeping a pledge,
So do not regret remembering a promise
For keeping a pledge is among the traits of the refined.
Remembering a promise is characteristic of the noble
