أَمرُ النَصارى عَجيبٌ

أَمرُ النَصارى عَجيبٌ

في سائِرِ الأَشياءِ

في سائِرِ الأَشياءِ

The Christians' ways are strange

The matter of Christians is strange

in all things.

In all things

لا يَستَلِذّونَ طَعماً

لا يَستَلِذّونَ طَعماً

لِمُستَطابَ الثَناءِ

لِمُستَطابَ الثَناءِ

They take no pleasure in the taste

They take no pleasure in a taste

of delightful praise.

For praiseworthy things

فَنَزِّهِ الهَجوَ عَنهُم

فَنَزِّهِ الهَجوَ عَنهُم

فَالقَومُ دونَ الهِجاءِ

فَالقَومُ دونَ الهِجاءِ

So keep satire unsullied by them,

So hold back criticism of them

for these people are beneath satire.

For they are above reproach
