باكِرtake early صَبوحَكَyour morning draught ياO قَضيبَbough البانِthe bān tree
باكِر صَبوحَكَ يا قَضيبَ البانِ
بِالراحِwith wine بَينَamong الآسِthe myrtle وَالرَيحانِand the basil
بِالراحِ بَينَ الآسِ وَالرَيحانِ
Take your morning draught early, O bough of the bān tree,
With wine among the myrtle and basil;
فَالغَيمُfor the cloud يَخلِطُmingles بَرقَهُits lightning بِضَبابِهِwith its mist
فَالغَيمُ يَخلِطُ بَرقَهُ بِضَبابِهِ
مِثلَlike اِختِلاطِthe mingling of النارِfire بِالدُخانِwith smoke
مِثلَ اِختِلاطِ النارِ بِالدُخانِ
For the cloud mingles its lightning with its mist,
As fire mingles with smoke.
