اُخدُمServe صَديقَكَyour friend بَكرَةًin the morning وَعَشِيَّةًand in the evening
اُخدُم صَديقَكَ بَكرَةً وَعَشِيَّةً
وَإِنand even if اِستَعَدَّhas made ready لِنَفسِهِfor himself خُدّاماservants
وَإِن اِستَعَدَّ لِنَفسِهِ خُدّاما
Serve your friend morning and evening,
Serve your friend morning and evening
Even if he has provided himself with servants.
And if he prepares servants for himself
فَالحُرُّfor the freeborn man إِنif أَمسىbecomes غُلامَthe servant of صَديقِهِhis friend
فَالحُرُّ إِن أَمسى غُلامَ صَديقِهِ
أَضحىbecomes لَهُto him حُسنُgoodness الثَناءِpraise غُلاماa servant
أَضحى لَهُ حُسنُ الثَناءِ غُلاما
For if a freeborn man becomes his friend's servant,
The free man, if he becomes his friend's servant in the evening
Fine praise becomes a servant to him.
Becomes for him a servant of good repute in the morning
