كَأَنَّما الجَوزاءُ لَمّا بَدَت

Orion, when it appeared, was like

As though the Pleiades when they appeared

A girdle of dewy pearls.

Were a girdle of fresh pearls

فَاِشرَب عَلى بَهجَتِها قَهوَةً

فَاِشرَب عَلى بَهجَتِها قَهوَةً

أَحلى مِنَ الوَصلِ بِلا عَتبِ

أَحلى مِنَ الوَصلِ بِلا عَتبِ

So drink wine to its splendor,

So drink coffee in its delight

Sweeter than union without reproach.

Sweeter than reunion without blame
