لا تَستَتَر بِالجَحدِ عَن عَتبي

لا تَستَتَر بِالجَحدِ عَن عَتبي

O you who have heaped a sin upon my sin,

O you who piled sin on my sin

Do not hide from my reproach behind denial.

Do not try to hide from my reproach

فَسوقُ ما أَخفَيتَهُ مِنكَ لا

فَسوقُ ما أَخفَيتَهُ مِنكَ لا

يُنفِقُ فيها سَلعَةَ الكِذبِ

يُنفِقُ فيها سَلعَةَ الكِذبِ

For the market of what you have concealed about yourself will not

For the market of what you concealed from me

Let the wares of falsehood sell there.

Does not spend the commodity of lies

ما عَجَبي مِنكَ وَمِمّا جَرى

ما عَجَبي مِنكَ وَمِمّا جَرى

بَل عَجَبي مِن وَجهِكَ الصَلبِ

بَل عَجَبي مِن وَجهِكَ الصَلبِ

My astonishment is not at you or at what happened,

I am not surprised at you or what happened

Rather, I marvel at your brazen face.

Rather, I am surprised at your stiff face
