ياO سائِليyou who ask me ماwhat الرَأيُjudgment إِسمَعhear وَصفَهُits description
يا سائِلي ما الرَأيُ إِسمَع وَصفَهُ
مِنfrom مُرهَفِone keen in العَزَماتِresolves وَالآراءِand opinions
مِن مُرهَفِ العَزَماتِ وَالآراءِ
O you who ask me what judgment is, hear its description
O questioner, listen as I describe my view,
From one whose resolves and opinions are finely honed.
From one whose determinations and opinions are sound.
الرَأيُjudgment عِنديin my view قُوَّةٌa faculty عَقلِيَّةٌmental
الرَأيُ عِندي قُوَّةٌ عَقلِيَّةٌ
فيin المَرءِa person تُرشِدُهُguides him إِلىto الأَشياءِthings
في المَرءِ تُرشِدُهُ إِلى الأَشياءِ
Judgment, in my view, is a mental faculty
My view is to me a mental power,
Within a person, guiding him to things.
Within a person, guiding him to matters.
