My brother, our wine—between the pearls of its bubbles

And the front teeth of the one who passes it round, there is no difference.

So come toward us while the bezoar of our sky

Is silvered by clouds and gilded by lightning.

For the west has made darkness kneel in its encampment,

And the east has released dawn's rein from its hand.

And come to us only astride a firm resolve

That, when it gallops in pleasure, takes the lead.

For time is at its fairest when it dawns

With white-blazed days and piebald hours.
