عيسى فَتى يَجفوهُ إِخوانُه

عيسى فَتى يَجفوهُ إِخوانُه

لِأَنَّهُ يُطبَخُ جُلبانُه

لِأَنَّهُ يُطبَخُ جُلبانُه

Isa is a youth whom his brothers shun,

Essa is a boy shunned by his brothers

Because his peas are cooked.

Because he cooks his chili stew

وَمَن أَبو جَعرانَ طَبّاخُه

وَمَن أَبو جَعرانَ طَبّاخُه

يَكونُ إِلّا تِلكَ أَلوانُه

يَكونُ إِلّا تِلكَ أَلوانُه

And one whose cook is Abu Ja‘ran—

And he who is Abu Ja'ran his cook

Could his dishes be anything but these?

Will only have flavors like these
