I see the age as barren ground that brings forth no one blessed with bounty.

Where, then, shall I seek my goal, when grass is scarce?

To God I complain that one like me is neglected,

struggling with people whose promise goes unfulfilled.

When I try to obtain their bounty,

I turn back, knowing I cannot attain it.

If some people's stinginess has no edging,

then theirs is embroidered along both its sides.
