أَخٌ نَداهُ واضِحُ السَبيلِ
He shaded me with his sheltering affection—
He shaded me with his gentle shade
A brother whose generosity has a clear path.
A brother whose path is clear
يَسيرُhe walks فيin المَجدِglory بِلاwithout دَليلٍa guide
يَسيرُ في المَجدِ بِلا دَليلٍ
مُهَذَّبُrefined الجُملَةِthe whole وَالتَفصيلِand the detail
مُهَذَّبُ الجُملَةِ وَالتَفصيلِ
He walks in glory without a guide,
He walks in glory without a guide
Refined as a whole and in every detail.
Refined in his every word and detail
أَخلاقُهُhis character تَنضَحُexudes بِالجَميلِwith goodness
أَخلاقُهُ تَنضَحُ بِالجَميلِ
كَأَنَّهُas though he were عافِيَةُhealth العَليلِthe ailing person
كَأَنَّهُ عافِيَةُ العَليلِ
His character exudes goodness,
His character overflows with beauty
As though he were health for the ailing.
As if he were the recovery of the ailing
