أَعتِقfree مِنَfrom الهَمِّcare رِقَّbondage قَلبيmy heart
بِعاتِقٍwith aged wine حَشوَهاits contents زُجاجُglass
Free my enslaved heart from care
Free my heart from the shackles of sorrow
With aged wine whose contents are glass,
With a shoulder adorned with glass
لِلماءِfor the water فيin خُلجِهاtheir channels اِختِلاجُquivering
Amid adorned gardens,
Among gardens filled with ornaments
Water quivers in their channels.
Water surges turbulently within them
فَلَيسَfor there is no يَدنوdraws near إِلَيكَto you غُصنٌa bough
بِمَفرِقٍwith a head لَيسَthere is not فيهِin it تاجُa crown
For no bough draws near to you
No branch can reach you here
With a head that bears no crown.
With separated locks without a crown
