أَناI عَبدٌa servant لِآلِto the family of عَبدِʿAbd مَنافِManāf
أَنا عَبدٌ لِآلِ عَبدِ مَنافِ
عِترَةَthe lineage النُسكِdevotion وَالتُقىand piety وَالعَفافِand chastity
عِترَةَ النُسكِ وَالتُقى وَالعَفافِ
I am a servant to the house of ʿAbd Manāf,
the lineage of devotion, piety, and chastity.
لَيسَis not مِنfor أَجلِthe reason أَنthat تَرانيyou see me شَريفاa nobleman
لَيسَ مِن أَجلِ أَن تَراني شَريفا
لاnot تَرانيyou see me مِنamong شيعَةِthe followers of الأَشرافِthe nobles
لا تَراني مِن شيعَةِ الأَشرافِ
Seeing me as a nobleman is no reason
not to see me among the followers of the nobles.
