لِغَيرِindeed not طَريفٍstrange مِنfrom طَريفيmy newly acquired wealth وَتالِديand my inherited wealth
رَحيلُهُماthe departure of both مَعwith مُستَميحيthose seeking my bounty وَقاصِديand those coming to me
It is nothing strange for my newly acquired and inherited wealth
To depart with those who seek my bounty and come to me.
لِأَيِّfor which فَتىًyoung man دَهريthroughout my life أَروحُI go out in the evening وَأَغتَديand I go out in the morning
لِتَفريقِto distribute أَموالٍwealth وَجَمعِand to gather مَحامِديmy praiseworthy deeds
For which young man do I go, throughout my life, at evening and at dawn,
To scatter wealth and gather praise for myself?
إِذاwhen رَأَتِshe saw الدُنياthe world خِصاليmy virtues بِعَينِهاwith her own eye
جَلَتshe displayed نَفسَهاherself مِنfrom حَليِهاher jewelry بِالقَلائِدِwith necklaces
When the world sees my virtues with her own eyes,
She displays herself in necklaces from her jewels.
