وَطَبعُكَand your nature كارِهٌaverse to ماwhat تَشتَهيهِyou desire it
You try to be a witty young man,
yet your nature is averse to what you desire.

وَتيهُكَand your arrogance قَدindeed تَجاوَزَhas surpassed كُلَّall تَيهِarrogance
And how can you be counted among the witty? Tell me,
when your arrogance has surpassed all arrogance.
أَرىI see الأَولادَchildren أَصغَرَyounger مِنthan أَبيهِمtheir father
وَأَنتَand you المَرءُthe man أَكبَرُolder مِنthan أَبيهِhis father
I see children younger than their father,
yet you are a man older than his father.
