صَوارِمُ أَلحاظِهِ مُرهَفَه

Exquisite in beauty, gentle in coquetry;

The exquisite in beauty, graceful in coquetry,

The swords of his glances are finely honed.

With glances like swords unsheathed,

كَأَنَّ ثَناياهُ نَورُ الأَقاحِ

كَأَنَّ ثَناياهُ نَورُ الأَقاحِ

تَفَتّحَ في وَردَةٍ مُضعَفَه

تَفَتّحَ في وَردَةٍ مُضعَفَه

As though his front teeth were daisy blossoms

As though the folds of his eyelids were

That have bloomed within a double-petaled rose.

The dawning light blooming in a rose.
