تُرىare seen بَرَكاتُthe blessings بورِكَmay blessing be bestowed فيهِupon him بَدريmy full moon
بِماin what أَلقاهُI endure it مِنof سَهَرٍsleeplessness وَفِكرِand brooding
The blessings of my full moon—may he be blessed—are seen
in the sleeplessness and brooding I endure.
غَزالٌa gazelle إِنif لَحانيreproaches me فيهِconcerning him لاحٍa censurer
يَقومُstands up عِذارُهُhis cheek-down عَنّيon my behalf بِعُذريin my defense
A gazelle: if a censurer reproaches me for him,
the down on his cheeks rises to my defense.

لَهُit has سَهمانِtwo arrows مِنof غُنجٍcoquetry وَسِحرِand magic
He gazed, and a glance from him shot my heart;
it has two arrows, of coquetry and magic.
فَلَوso if رَنَّةٌa ringing note فيin فيهِhis mouth خَفَّتfell lightly
عَلىupon سَمعيmy hearing إِذاًthen ماnot خَفَّwould wane صَبريmy patience
So if a ringing note in his mouth fell lightly
upon my ear, then my patience would not wane.
