وَمُلهٍand an entertainer يَملأُfills الإِصغاءَlistening حُسناًwith beauty
وَمُلهٍ يَملأُ الإِصغاءَ حُسناً
إِذاwhen ماan emphatic particle السَمعُhearing أَرسَلَهُsends it إِلَيهِto him
إِذا ما السَمعُ أَرسَلَهُ إِلَيهِ
And a singer who fills listening with beauty,
whenever the ear directs its attention toward him.
لَوif أَنَّthat مُخارِقاًMukhariq حَيٌّalive وَغَنّىand sang
لَو أَنَّ مُخارِقاً حَيٌّ وَغَنّى
لَخَرَّقَhe would surely rend ثَوبَهُhis robe طَرباًin rapture عَلَيهِover him
لَخَرَّقَ ثَوبَهُ طَرباً عَلَيهِ
If Mukhariq were alive and this singer sang,
he would rend his robe in rapture at his song.
