أَلاLo! طوبىblessedness لِمَنfor whoever أَمسىpasses the evening وَأَضحىand passes the morning
أَلا طوبى لِمَن أَمسى وَأَضحى

خَفيفَ الظَهرِ مِن ثِقلِ الذُنوبِ
Lo, blessed is the one who, evening and morning,
Lo, blessed is he who passes evening and morning
is light of back, free of the weight of sins;
With his back free of the burden of sins.

ذُيولاً ما تَدَنَّسُ بِالعُيوبِ
among us, before our eyes, his virtues trail
His virtues trail, from among us, in our presence,
trains that no blemish has ever soiled.
Trains unsullied by faults.

He withdraws from those far and near alike
He withdraws from those far away and those nearby
to commune alone with the All-Knower of the unseen.
To be alone with the All-Knower of the unseen.
