Rise—let us drink early of a virgin wine alive with gleams of light,
Rise, let us drink at dawn a virgin wine radiant with light;
and ring her round with buttons of pearl:
with buttons of pearl upon its collar;

wine that shows you the house in the murk of darkest night,
a wine that shows you the house in the deep gloom of night,
as though daylight had never departed from it.
as though daylight had never left it.

Before dilution, she seems all scarlet anemones;
So before mixing, it is like anemones,
after dilution, all white, yellow-hearted oxeye blossoms.
and after mixing, like yellow oxeye blossoms.
